September 15, 2007 :: Version 0.6 Released!
Jagex apparently has changed the layout of the high scores page, and that caused the previous version of RS StatTool to stop functioning. So, in turn, I have updated the code to use the new lite high scores service that Jagex has recently made available. This should ensure that the program will continue to function for an extended time.

Along with the update, came the addition of a system tray icon. This means that you no longer have to keep that cumbersome window minimized. You can now show/hide the main program window using said tray icon. Apart from that, the only other changes include some minor bug fixes.

For now, only the Linux version is available for download. This is because my Windows box has gone to hell, and I need to get it up and working before I can release the Windows version itself. Sorry for the inconvenience. As a final note, I have included an Ubuntu deb for Feisty. This should make installing the package much easier. Of course, standard source tarballs are also available.

Other than that, enjoy!

February 9, 2007 :: Version 0.5 Released!
Some major changes this time around. First of all, player stats can now be saved to a file, along with a timestamp that records when that file was saved. Saving the stats involves first downloading the player's stats, right clicking the tab, and selecting 'Save Stats' from the context menu. It's as easy as that!

Along with that, I've now made comparing stats more flexible. You can compare two players that are already downloaded in the application, one player against a file, or file against file. To accomodate for this, I have changed the layout of the dialog used before comparing stats. It's fairly straightforward; players are separated into two groups. Each group can either accept a player by opening a saved file, or by selecting a player that has stats already downloaded. This is explained in further detail in the readme file.
Also, I've fixed up the Windows MFC port so that it now supports Windows XP themes. If you remember the ugly 0.4 version, then you know that the GUI used the classic Windows look and feel, regardless if your Windows XP theme was the dominant style. In addition, I tried to unify the Windows and Linux versions so that they look and function nearly identically. With this, I put in some extra effort to iron out any remaining bugs.

Lastly, I've repackaged the distribution into new formats. For Windows, I've provided a binary installer, much like what you're used to with many other applications. The Linux version now comes in an RPM package, too. As always, the source package is available as well.

I have to admit; this is probably the most stable and best version that I've released thus far. But as always, there are most likely some (hopefully) minor bugs that I may have overlooked. Please email me any comments, suggestions, and/or bugs.

Enjoy!

January 10, 2007 :: Version 0.4 Released!
Version 0.4 of the RS StatTool has been released! This version is primarily the first for the new Windows MFC port that I've written. Apparently, some of the Windows users didn't really like the Windows GTK version, so I've taken the liberty of replacing it with a native MFC version. It looks and functions exactly the same as its GTK counterpart.

There is no major change in the Linux GTK version, apart from some GUI tweaking so it matches that of the MFC version.

As always, please report any bugs that you may find! Enjoy.

December 15, 2006 :: Windows Ports
I've managed to port RS StatTool over to Windows. It requires the GTK+ and gtkmm runtime environments to work, and I've also updated the Readme for the Windows version to reflect that. This being the first Windows port, please alert me of any bugs that you may find.

The Windows files will be available under the Downloads section in .zip archives. I've included two packages, one with both runtime environments in the package (-win32-gtk), and one without (-win32-nogtk).

December 7, 2006 :: RS Stat Tool 0.3 Released
Version 0.3 has been released! This version basically updates the stat tool to work with the new changes that took place on the RuneScape high scores page. As always, please inform me of any bugs that you may happen to come across.

Enjoy!

June 30, 2006 :: RS Stat Tool 0.2 Released
Version 0.2 of the RuneScape Stat Tool has been released today. Some changes have been been done this time around:

  • Hopefully more stable stat downloads
As always, please inform me of any bugs you may happen to find. Enjoy!

June 21, 2006 :: RS Stat Tool 0.1 Released
Version 0.1 of the RuneScape Stat Tool has been released today. You can fetch it on the Download page. If you find a bug or some other fault, please don't hesitate to report it via the bug tracker on the Sourceforge page.

June 21, 2006 :: Welcome
Welcome to the Sourceforge homepage of the RuneScape Stat Tool. This tool will allow users to quickly and easily download RS player stats so you can either save them, compare with other players, and view general player info without the hassle of having to visit an array of different websites to gather this data.

This website is still incomplete in terms of content, but I'll make sure to finish it up soon.
